WordPress Widget

Enhance your blog posts by adding the Wanderfly WordPress plugin, and help your readers explore a destination even further!

Installation

  1. Go to your WordPress dashboard.
  2. Click “Plugins” on the left sidebar.
  3. Click “Add New”.
  4. In the search field, type in “Wanderfly”. The Wanderfly widget will appear.
  5. Click on “Install” at the end of the information box, under “Actions”. A pop-up menu will appear.
  6. Click on “Install Now” in the top right corner.
  7. Once the plugin is installed, click “Activate”. The widget is now installed and activated, but get your API key by following the directions below to make the widget fully functional.

How to get an API Key

  1. Go to Wanderfly. If you don’t have a Wanderfly account, create one now.
  2. Once you’re logged in, go to the Widgets page.
  3. Once there, enter your blog’s domain name in the text field (eg: http://wanderfly.com) then click “Get Key” button. Your API Key will appear.
  4. Copy your API Key that is displayed right after the domain name you just provided.
  5. Go back to your WordPress dashboard and click “Settings” on the left sidebar.
  6. Click “Wanderfly”. A new page will appear with a field for you to paste your API Key in.
  7. Paste the API Key into the open field and click “Save Changes”. Your Wanderfly widget is now fully functional! Go to a blog post, find the entry box at the bottom right, and type in any destination to include the widget in that post!

Manual Installation

Download the plugin here : Wanderfly WordPress plugin v0.1

  1. Upload `/wanderfly/` folder to the `/wp-content/plugins/` directory
  2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
  3. Place “<?php wf_template_widget(); ?>” in your template. (Normally into the single.php file inside the loop, so that it’s displayed into your posts.)
